Goals, goals & more goals

The fourth round of the Apertura would be one the the defenders would want to forget as twenty-nine goals were scored in the nine matches on offer, including two hat-tricks, as we saw the first round this season without a scoreless draw.

The goal scoring feast kicked off on Friday night as both O’Higgins and Audax Italiano scored 3-2 away victorys away from home against Ñublense and La Serena respectively whilst Palestino held Wanderers to a draw at Playa Ancha.

Saturday was the day of the hat-trick, as first Joel Soto scored three as Cobresal brought Unión La Calera unbeaten run to an end with a 3-1 victory which was followed by a Ever Cantero 10-minute hat-trick in Santiago Morning’s 3-1 win over Iquique.

Whilst Universidad de Chile maintained their unbeaten start with a 2-1 win over Unión Española in the last game of the round at the Estadio Nacional their arch rivals Colo Colo still remain winless after crashing to 2-0 defeat at Unión San Felipe and remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
