Copa América provisional squad announced

Amongst all the excitement of the weekend’s playoff action Claudio Borghi managed to announce his provisional twenty-eight man squad for the upcoming Copa América. This squad will be whittled down to twenty-two when the tournament commences.

There are no real surprises in Borghi’s squad with the inclusion of locally based players being the only real difference from the squad he announced in March. One noticable absentee is Mark González, who will miss the tournament through injury. Chile will play friendlies against Estonia in Santiago on June 19th and Paraguay in Asunción on June 24th.

Update: Mauricio Pinilla has had to pull out of the squad due to injury with Colo Colo wunderkid Diego Rubio taking his place in the squad.

as i said on my other post, great blog!
im not pretty sure about how borghi will succeed or not, mostly because he have his favorites, and players that dont do much to be honest (like jara), and well, lots of catolica players go in!
hope meneses and gutierrez make it to the final squad!

pd: i would like to add, Raul Olivares from colo colo is a goalkeeper, not a defender :p
