No perfect ten for La “U”

The latest round of fixtures saw ten wins in a row prove too much for Universidad de Chile whilst Universidad Católica continued its freefall with its fourth loss in five matches and Colo Colo cemented second spot on the ladder.

Universidad de Chile’s nine match winning streak came to an end at the hands of Santiago Wanderers with the two teams sharing the points in a 1-1 draw in the Estadio Playa Ancha. The home side opened the scoring in the fourth minute via Ángel Orué before Francisco Castro equalised just before the half-time break for La “U”. The draw still leaves the league leaders with a six point advantage over their nearest rivals Colo Colo.

Los albos for their part kept some sort of pressure on the league leaders as they defeated third placed Audax Italiano 3-0 in the last match of the round with goals to Carlos Muñoz, Rodrigo Millar and Marco Medel.

Universidad Católica continued their recent bad run of form going down to their fourth loss in five matches after Unión San Felipe defeated them 1-0 courtesy of Matias Urbano, whose goal celebration included some pretty impressive breakdance moves.
