Campeonato de Clausura 2011: Round 15 fixtures

After all the hype of the superclásico last round it is much sedate looking round this weekend although there are some still very important matches that could determine the post-season action of some of the teams.

One particular match that catches the eye is the clash between Unión Española and Universidad Católica on Saturday evening. With both teams eighth and sixth respectively on the table, three points is essential to maintain the chances of action come the post-season. Doubly important for los hispanos is that in terms of the General Table they are only one point ahead of Colo Colo for a possible third spot in next year’s Copa Libertadores.

This round also sees Ivo Basay return to his old stomping ground for the first time since taking charge of Colo Colo as they head down south to take on O’Higgins. The Rancaguan side has been in free-fall since Basay’s departure and in reality should prove no challenge for los albos. Another match of interest is Audax Italiano taking on Ñublense with the latter team possibility seeing playoff action on two fronts in the latter part of the season as they currently sit in the relegation playoff zone as well as seventh position for the Clausura season.
