Copa Libertadores 2012: Unión Española 1-0 Tigres

Unión Española won the first leg of their Copa Libertadores qualifier 1-0 against Mexican side, Tigres with a Gonzalo Barriga goal being the difference between the two sides.

In what was a fairly lacklustre affair where the visitors had the better chances to grab an advantage it was neat combination involving new recruit Dagoberto Currimilla on the edge of the area for the home side before Sebastián Jaime put in a pinpoint cross for Gonzalo Barriga to head home in the 58th minute as he beat his defender and the Tigres keeper to the ball.

The return leg will be played on the 2nd February in Monterrey with the winner joining Group 3 which features Bolivar, Junior and fellow Chileans Universidad de Chile.
