The third round of the Apertura sees a number of teams looking to get their first wins of the season whilst Universidad de Chile, Cobreloa and Colo Colo will be looking to build on their first up wins in the last round and Universidad Católica will be hoping for an improvement from the week before.
Universidad de Chile gets the third round of the Apertura season underway as they host Iquique at the Estadio Santa Laura on Friday night. La U will be looking to build on their first up win the week before whilst Iquique will have an uphill task to get their first win of the season.
Saturday sees four matches take place with the highlight being Audax Italiano hosting last year’s Clausura finalists, Cobreloa at the Estadio Bicentenario Lucio Fariña. Both Huachipato and La Serena will be looking for their first three points of the season on Saturday along with Cobresal who will be looking to bounce back from their last up thrashing when they host Colo Colo. In the day’s first match Palestino and Unión La Calera will be hoping to build on the one point they both have picked up so far this season.
Sunday sees Unión Española look to consolidate their lead on top of the table when they host O’Higgins at the Estadio Santa Laura. Universidad Católica meanwhile will be looking to bounce back from their last start loss to Santiago Wanderers when they host Unión San Felipe in the weekend’s last match. For their part Wanderers will look to build on that shock win when they host second placed Rangers whilst fellow promoted side Antofagasta host Universidad de Concepción in the day’s other match.
