After Cobreloa and Universidad de Chile finally got around to playing the final match from Round One all teams have now played five matches as we head into Round Six of the Apertura season. Highlights this week include the second successive clásico de colonias along with an all important clash between Santiago Wanderers and Colo Colo.
Universidad Católica kick off the weekend’s fixtures on Friday night as they host Rangers with an eye to end their recent run of draws both in the league and the Copa Libertadores. Saturday sees Palestino play their second clásico de colonias in two weeks as they host Unión Española with an eye to building on their first win of the season last start. Their opponents in last week’s clásico, Audax Italiano will be hoping that their fortunes change with a first up win as they head up north to take on an unbeaten Iquique in the day’s second match, who currently sit in fifth position on the table. In the day’s other matches league leaders O’Higgins travel to Universidad de Concepción whilst second placed Universidad de Chile will be looking to build on their last start win over Cobreloa when they host fellow northerners Cobresal, who only have Audax Italiano below them on the table. Unión San Felipe and Huachipato bring the day’s proceedings to the end in the Estadio Municpal de San Felipe as both teams look to build on their won win for the season.
Cobreloa, who currently are in third position, will look to bounce back from their mid-week loss to Universidad de Chile when they host La Serena in Sunday’s first match. Meanwhile Colo Colo will be looking to bounce back from their last start loss when they take on the high flying Santiago Wanderers whilst eleventh and twelfth placed Unión La Calera and Antofagasta bring the round to an end in the Estadio Nicolás Chahuan.
