Campeonato de Apertura 2012: Round 7 fixtures

The Apertura season is now more than a third complete with the league table starting to take shape as teams look to consolidate their position in the playoffs whilst others look to arrest a poor start to the season. Key matches include Rangers versus Palestino, Audax Italiano versus Universidad de Chile and the match of the round, O’Higgins versus Universidad Católica.

Rangers de Talca and Palestino meet in the round’s first match and with both teams sitting at the wrong end of the table, three points is a must. Saturday sees Unión Española take on Huachipato in the day’s first match whilst clásico rivals Audax Italiano has a tough task to make it two wins in a row as they host second placed Universidad de Chile. In the day’s other matches Universidad de Concepción host third placed Cobreloa and Unión San Felipe take on Unión La Calera.

Sunday sees some key matches in the north of the country as Antofagasta host Santiago Wanderers, with the latter looking to bounce back from their last start loss, and Cobresal taking on fellow northerners Iquique. The round’s most mouth-watering match sees top-placed O’Higgins host fourth placed Universidad Católica whilst Colo Colo take on La Serena in the round’s last match.
