Despite their being eight other important fixtures this weekend all everyone is talking about is the supercláscio taking place on Sunday afternoon as we head towards the end of the regular season.
For the second successive week Unión San Felipe get the round underway as this week they play host to Cobreloa, who will be looking to make it two wins in a row after their win in the clásico del cobre last weekend.
Saturday sees Unión Española kick off the day’s proceedings when they host Universidad de Concepción at the Estadio Santa Laura. This is followed by Palestino taking on the high-flying Iquique whilst last placed Cobresal take on Rangers. Also in action on Saturday is Huachipato as they take on Universidad Católica and La Serena will host Antofagasta. The day’s proceedings are brought to an end by a mouth-watering clash between Santiago Wanderers and O’Higgins at the Estadio Playa Ancha.
The talk leading up to this round has dominated by one match and one match only at that is the supercláscio between Universidad de Chile and Colo Colo in the Estadio Nacional. There is nothing that La U would like more than to make it ten wins in a row against their fiercest rival and put a serious dent in their playoff aspirations whilst they are at it. After all the excitement and drama that the supercláscio is sure to include, the round is brought to an end by Unión La Calera and Audax Italiano.
