We have a full compliment of matches for the second round of the Clausura season with the highlight of the round surely to be the clash between O’Higgins and Colo Colo on Sunday afternoon. The round also sees Universidad de Chile, Cobreloa and Antofagasta make their debuts for the season along with the aforementioned O’Higgins.
Two games take place on Friday night to open the second round of the Clausura season with fans of all four teams hoping that no one has walked under any ladders of encountered any black cats being that it is Friday the 13th and all. Kicking off proceedings are Audax Italiano who host Universidad de Concepción before later in the evening a northern derby of sorts takes place as Iquique host Antofagasta.
Action in the north continues on Saturday as Cobresal will be hoping to finish the game with eleven men and more importantly the three points as they host Unión Española, who for their part will be looking to fix a leaky defence. Cobresal’s fierce rivals Cobreloa are also in action on Saturday and travel down south to take on Unión La Calera in their first match of the season. Also on Saturday Universidad Católica will be looking to give Martín Lasarte his first win in charge as they host Santiago Wanderers before the day’s proceedings are brought to an end in Talcahuano as Huachipato host Palestino, one of only two winners in round one.
The other winner in round one was Colo Colo who will be looking to make it two from two when they travel down south to take on Apertura runners-up O’Higgins in Sunday’s first match. Also in action on Sunday are Rangers and Unión San Felipe, two teams who will be looking for a win to get out of the relegation zone. The round is brought to an end on Monday afternoon as Universidad de Chile get their Clausura campaign underway against La Serena in the Estadio Santa Laura.
