A third of the season has gone by as we hit the midway point of August and the table is looking fairly congested with four points separating second from twelfth position. It is only Rangers who have managed to grab a bit of space at the top of the table.
Round seven kicks off in Talcahuano on Friday night as seventh placed Huachipato play host to Unión Española, who are after a slow start to the season are currently sitting in second position on the table.
Sitting three points ahead of los hispanos are Rangers who help kick off proceedings on Saturday as they travel to the capital to take on Palestino. Universidad de Chile, who are sitting in third position but have two games in hand, are in action in the day’s second match when they play host to Audax Italiano. Next up Unión La Calera take on Unión San Felipe before the day’s proceedings are brought to an end in Valparaiso as Santiago Wanderers duel with Antofagasta.
Sunday sees action a-plenty in the north of the country with three matches kicking off at 4pm. La Serena host a Colo Colo side that has gone five matches without a win whilst there is a northern derby of sorts as Iquique look to recover from their Copa Sudamericana exit when they take on the high-flying Cobresal and Cobreloa will be looking for a win against last-placed Universidad de Concepción. The day’s action comes to an end in the capital as Unviersidad Católica host O’Higgins in what is sure to be one of the matches of the round.
