We are slowly and inevitably heading towards the playoffs and round eleven sees teams at either end of the table playing crucial matches as they look to either consolidate a playoff position or avoid the clutches of relegation.
The round kicks off in the north of the country as La Serena plays host to Iquique with the latter looking to maintain their position in the top three and to keep the pressure the two teams above them on the table.
In Saturday’s opening match Palestino will be hoping to consolidate their playoff position against the bottom placed Universidad de Concepción, who themselves will be aiming to get out of the relegation playoff spot that they currently find themselves in. Following that fellow relegation threatened side, Santiago Wanderers will have their work cut out as they host second placed Universidad de Chile.
Following that Audax Italiano who aren’t without a chance of making the playoffs despite sitting fourteenth face off against an Antofagasta side who sit in ninth position. At the same Huachipato play host to Cobresal, who currently are in one of the automatic relegations spots. The other side who sits in an automatic relegation spot is Unión San Felipe and they bring the day’s action to an end when they take on O’Higgins.
Sunday sees Rangers look to maintain their position at the top of the table when they travel to Unión La Calera whilst fourth placed Universidad Católica play Cobreloa. The round is brought to an end in the Estadio Monumental as Colo Colo look to make it four wins in a row when they play host to Unión Española.
