With only three rounds left in the regular season there are a number of crucial games taking place this weekend as teams either look to consolidate a playoff position or desperately try to avoid the threat of relegation.
At the time of writing one match has already taken place in round fifteen with Santiago Wanderers defeating Iquique 2-1 in the round’s opening match held on Wednesday night.
Friday night sees two matches take place with Colo Colo looking to make it eleven matches without a loss as they take on Unión San Felipe in the days first match. San Felipe for their part will be looking to move out of the automatic relegation spot. The day’s other match sees Huachipato play host to Audax Italiano with Huachipato looking to consolidate a playoff position whilst a win for Audax will mean they leapfrog their opponents into a playoff position.
Saturday sees five matches take place with top of the table Rangers looking to consolidate their position when they host O’Higgins in the day’s first match. Half an hour after that match kicks off fourth-placed Palestino will host seventh-placed Cobreloa in a match that could have a huge bearing on where they finish come the playoffs. Next up Universidad Católica will look to build on their Copa Sudamericana quarter-final qualification when the travel north to take on Cobresal, who for their part will be looking to escape the relegation playoff spots. In the day’s last two matches La Serena, who are in one of the automatic relegation spots, will look to escape with a win against Unión La Calera whilst Unión Española will break a run of six matches without a win as they host Antofagasta.
The round’s last match will take place on Monday with Universidad de Chile hosting Universidad de Concepción.
